About the Journal
SHISHYA: Studies and Perspectives on Law and Justice is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal published by the Yayasan Bantuan Hukum Nayottama Reswara, Indonesia. The journal provides a platform for experts, academics, legal practitioners, government representatives, NGO members, and legal scholars to share original research and theoretical insights in the field of law, justice, and interdisciplinary legal studies at both national and international levels (see Focus and Scope for more details).
The word Shishya, derived from Sanskrit, means disciple or student—reflects the spirit of this journal as a forum for continuous, critical, and ethical scientific learning in the development of reflective and responsible legal and justice studies. Published biannually (January and July), SHISHYA: Studies and Perspectives on Law and Justice features research articles, review papers, and critical analyses that contribute to the advancement of legal knowledge and practice.
Article Retraction Policy
Articles may be retracted if found to breach ethical or scientific standards, including plagiarism, data falsification, duplicate publication, or authorship misconduct. Retraction may also occur to correct significant publication errors.
Retraction procedures follow COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines and include:
-
Clear notification of retraction in the journal system.
-
Marking of the retracted article PDF with a “Retracted” watermark while preserving the record.
-
Removal of the HTML version from the website, if necessary.
All retraction decisions are made by the Editors in consultation with the Editorial Board.
Article Withdrawal Policy
Authors may request withdrawal of a submitted article if an ethical issue is identified—such as plagiarism, duplicate submission, or authorship misrepresentation. A formal written request must be submitted to the Editorial Board. Withdrawn articles will remain listed in the system with an appropriate notice.
Article Correction Policy
Corrections are issued when a published article contains factual or authorship errors that do not invalidate the overall results. Three forms of corrections may apply:
-
Erratum (Publisher Correction): for errors introduced during production.
-
Corrigendum (Author Correction): for author-initiated corrections.
-
Addendum: for additional clarification or updates by authors.
Correction decisions are made by the Editors in coordination with authors and, if required, reviewers or board members.
Article Removal (Legal Constraints)
An article may be removed from the online database only when it is defamatory, violates legal rights, or is subject to a court order. In such cases, metadata will remain accessible, and a statement will indicate that the article was removed for legal reasons.
Article Replacement
If a published article contains errors that could lead to potential harm if used or cited, authors may request to replace the article with a corrected version. The retraction notice will provide a link to the revised version along with a record of the publication history.
